We had a great night's sleep on the Four Seasons mattress (not the same as ours in Vail but very good).

We sat outside (with lots of mosquito coils) and saw the full moon until the clouds covered it and a little rain began. We ordered a light meal: a Thai papaya salad for Audre and a Massaman Nua curry for Dimitri, along with sticky rice with mango. We loved, loved loved the instant hot water. Before dinner, we took showers in our indoor-outdoor shower, brushed our teeth and generally felt human again. The Four Seasons Koh Samui provided a gift of a delicious bowl of fruit with 2 young coconuts (full of juice and meat), longan, mango, passion fruit, banana and pear, which we ate outside by our private pool for lunch. The storage was good enough and we were able to unpack everything and send our suitcases away to be stored. We spent our first afternoon inside the villa, as required, unpacking. accommodations (which is very unusual for us). We were brought to our villa in a buggy that had a "Happy Birthday" sign across it for us how wonderful! We were immediately happy with our 1000 sq. Our deluxe one-bedroom villa has a magnificent view and is absolutely lovely. The Four Seasons Koh Samui is built on a very steep and hilly area by the water.

After receiving word of our negative test results the next morning, we would be free to travel anywhere in Thailand. We would stay in our villa for dinner that night and breakfast the next day. They gave us a warm welcome and a special drink! After doing the paperwork and learning about the hotel, we were told how the "quarantine" in our villa would work until our COVID test results were received from the airport personnel. We were met at the reception sala by the General Manager Sean Mosher, as well as Jingyi (Front Desk Manager) and Panicha (Resort Assistant Manager, Rooms), the staff with whom we had made all of our arrangements. Here is the maximum that TripAdvisor allows to be put here: We arrived at the Four Seasons Koh Samui in the Thai COVID authorized transport, after getting our COVID test at the Koh Samui airport (and getting the box of Flowflex antigen rapid tests to take 6 or 7 days later at the hotel). All the accommodations and amenities compliment the beach and the view, just as much as these add value back to the built-up components of the resort. Perhaps the best part of the resort is the beach. Unfortunately, most were closed during the time of my visit due to the pandemic. Which doesn't include all the different F&B outlets. Guest amenities include everything from a pocket cinema, library, boxing ring, tennis courts, spa treatments, yoga center, a health club, and a kids' club. Unless you enjoy steep walks up and down the hillside, this is my recommended mode of traversing the resort. Getting around is done by electric buggies on call. A generous work table is on one side, with a set of double doors leading into the ensuite bath, with dressing area to one side and wardrobes on the other, ending in a cubicle for toilet, a shower stall, and a large space for a bathtub. The large front deck has a generous dining sala, that enters on into the room. I was billeted at one of the villas with a private plunge pool and a generous view out to the sea. Situated at the top of a hill, guests arrive at the Arrival Sala at the very summit and from there the guest accommodations beautifully cascade down the hillside around a small cove, with most amenities down by the beach.

It is still a very beautiful resort, but it does need a bit of repair in places, an upgrade in others, or a fresh coat of attention and care. Perhaps it was the pandemic and having fewer guests meant less staff, which translated into a few observations about the state of the resort.
The Four Seasons is by far the best resort on Koh Samui by any standard, but. I might not have another chance to visit, but I definitely enjoyed my brief work-stay at this beautiful resort.
